ECUWEST Has finally cracked the CANBUS protocols and defined the huge hex files enabling us to tune the awesome V Twin KTM machines. The Adventure R was our test mule, as can be seen on the dyno graph below we gained 20hp at the wheel. The best gain was in attained through deresticting the throttle butterflies which are restricted to 70% in the stock maps. We also fixed all the fuelling and raised the rev limiter.   2. Hi, I have a couple of questions to ask about the tune.

    What modifications were performed to the bike that was tested and shown here?

    Will the mail in re-flash work with a stock bike?

    Will the re-flash still compensate for altitude changes?

    Whats will be the fuel octane requirement after the tune?

    • Hi Keith, I’ll answer your questions in order

      The bike had a slip on and unifilter fitted prior to baseline run and the best run was achieved in this configuration
      Yes, we have maps to suit stock exhaust and air filter
      Yes, all normal functions of the ECU operate as usual (ECU compensates for changes in barometric pressure and O2 content)
      Tuning works best if fuel to equal to or greater than 91 Oct
